Raanana Finds Loving Homes for Stray Dogs

A record number of 300 dogs were adopted in 2011 from the Department of Veterinary Services. On cold wintry days, the municipal dog pound operates a heating system and the dogs are taken out for a daily half hour walk.

Raanana’s Bartov Elementary School Implements a New Program for the Study of Sign Language

The school’s 4th graders have begun to learn expressions and concepts in sign language. A special emphasis is placed on concepts related to the field of tourism, a subject that an integral part of the school’s curriculum.

Upgrading Opsterland Street - Stage 2

Dear Residents,

The Opsterland Street Development Project began this past November. As part of this project, underground high tension lines will be laid, decorative lamp posts will be installed, a new sidewalk paved and a new drainage line will be laid.

The second stage of the project will shortly be underway and the work will continue until May 2012.

Snow in Raanana

This Friday, 3.2.2012, Raanana residents and their children will have the opportunity to enjoy real snow, straight from the Hermon, at the Green Fair to be held in honor of Tu Bishvat at the Yad LaBanim Plaza.

This week, Raanana’s Frankel TALI School was inaugurated at its new location, with an investment of NIS 20 million, of which NIS 16 million were donated by Stanley Frankel.

Mr. Frankel is a member of the philanthropic family from Michigan, U.S., which founded the first TALI School in Israel, 30 years ago.
“TALI Schools offer their students a connection to their Jewish roots, together with values education, mutual respect and love for the State of Israel. TALI serves as a wonderful example of solidarity between religious and secular Jews, which reflects the spirit of the city of Raanana and its religious and cultural pluralism” - Raanana Mayor Nahum Hofree.
